Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G Modem Brings 5Gbps Internet Speed

Qualcomm Technologies, inc announced the arrival of its Snapdragon X50 5G Modem, the world’s first 5G modem and it can support up to 5Gbps internet speed (download speeds).

Maximum 4G internet speed in India is 20-40Mbps offered by Reliance Jio, the global 4G average download speed is currently about 13.5Mbps, which means the X50 will be capable of nearly 400 times that.

There is no cellular networks that support 5G standards. And it is not  likely that you’ll be able to enjoy 5Gbps download speeds when these services first become available.

Company said that it will start manufacturing chips before 2017 ends, and you can expect to see smartphones shipping with them starting in 2018.
